Andy Chaves

Andy Chaves has been a videographer and producer for 13 years.  While still earning his broadcasting degree from the University of Nebraska-Lincoln, he became a full-time videographer for KOLN/KGIN-TV, the CBS affiliate in Lincoln, NE. During his five years there, his Associated Press Award-winning coverage included Huskers sports coverage, the 2004 Hallam tornado, and Nebraskans helping out in the aftermath of Hurricane Katrina.  In late 2006 he began working at Time Warner Cable, eventually working his way up to lead producer for Time Warner Cable SportsChannel in Nebraska.  Some of his work at TWC includes producing high school football and basketball broadcasts; Huskers football recruiting, spring football, and season review shows; and other high school sports stories and special shows.  He also produced an award-winning TWC documentary on how the First Lego League robotics program inspires 4th-8th graders to get excited about about STEM (science, technology, engineering, and math).

Andy has also been a passionate hockey fan for most of his life.  While never a talented ice hockey player himself, he played competitive roller hockey throughout high school and college, and was captain of the 1999 Omaha Vipers 17+ older team that won a national championship in the USARS Junior Olympic division, as well as a national tournament third place finish in 2000.  On Friday and Saturday nights throughout high school he could usually be found at Ak-Sar-Ben Coliseum cheering on the Omaha Lancers--including future NHLers Ryan Malone, Dan Ellis, and Jed Ortmeyer--while sitting with the crazy fans "on the stage," antagonizing the opposing team's goalie.

In his spare time Andy enjoys going on walks and to hockey games (now as a more civilized fan) with Katie--his wife of 10 years, teaching his oldest son Kellen (7) how to hit a baseball over the fence into the neighbor's yard; and helping his youngest son Kyler (3) swing his hockey stick in the general direction of the puck on the driveway; and his 5-month-old Hayden is still a couple years away from learning the ins and outs of hockey, but his spitting up game is quite strong.

Katie Falco

After graduating from Creighton University in Omaha, Katie moved back to her hometown of Kansas City to join Time Warner Cable SportsChannel, formerly known as Metro Sports. She started as the high school freelance sideline reporter before working full-time in Lincoln, Nebraska, where she spent three and a half years reporting on the Cornhuskers and Omaha Storm Chasers. Wherever the Huskers were, she was close behind.

In June 2014, TWC transferred her back to KC where she spent the majority of her time covering the Kansas Jayhawks, Kansas City Chiefs, Kansas City Royals and local KC high school athletics. Whether it was reporting about the Kansas City Chiefs’ first playoff victory in two decades or bringing Royals fans inside the clubhouse for a rowdy World Series celebration 29 years in the making, she loved every minute of being a sports reporter.

During her 8 years as a sports reporter she covered many different events including the 2015 ALDS, ALCS, & World Series; 2016 NCAA Men’s Basketball Sweet 16 & Elite Eight; 2015 NCAA Men’s Basketball Regional Tournament; 2015 Pro Football Hall of Fame; 2016 AFC Divisional Round of Playoffs, 2016 Royals Spring Training; 2015-2016 NCAA Men’s Basketball Big 12 Championship; 2014-2016 Kansas Shrine Bowls; 2011-2014 Big 10 Media Days; 2012 and 2013 Cotton Bowl; 2014 Gator Bowl, 2012 Big Ten Championship; 2011-2014 College World Series.

In January 2017, Katie and her husband moved to St. Paul, Minnesota and she opened her own company, Falco Creative Media. She does sports stuff, videography stuff, social media stuff, on-air personality stuff, freelance stuff, lots of stuff. She is loving being the boss and working with a variety of clients and is looking forward to the continued growth of her business.  When she is not working, she is watching movies, hanging out with friends and of course, spending as much time as possible with Matt (her husband), James (her son, 10 months) and Motzi (her wiener dog).
